THE AWARD WINNING
MATRIX - THE FIRST EVOLUTIONARY GROUP 0+ CAR SEAT IN THE WORLD
THE MATRIX
LIE-FLAT CAR SEAT has been designed for your baby's health &
protection in the car, from birth to approx. 18 months (13Kg in
weight). Approved in accordance with the new European ECE R44/03
safety standards. This 'MULTI AWARD
WINNING CAR SEAT' can be used in
either the front or back of the car.
It is the only car
seat on the market that can be used in the car like a carrycot lying
flat or as a infant car seat in the car sitting up-right.
The Matrix has proved
to be one of the most revolutionary healthiest & safest car seats on
the market, specially designed to protect your baby in the car and
on the pram.
Your child
needs the support of a flat surface especially when sleeping - the
MATRIX promotes the correct development of their delicate back and
respiration system.
As new-born babies
are currently spending more time in infant car seats than ever
before, its becoming a worrying fact that many mothers are unaware
of the dangers of using infant car seats as substitutes for
carrycots. As a result they are keeping young babies far too long in
these unnatural scrunched up positions. This is not a position that
young babies should be exposed to for long periods of time, as their
delicate back needs the support of a flat surface, especially when
sleeping to help promote the correct development of their bones.
Medical research has
also proven that in some very young babies (especially premature
babies) kept in car seats for more than an hour can have
depressed respiration and lower oxygen levels, simply because they
need to lie flat to breathe more easily. This is known as
oxygen desaturation.
The reasons for
Oxygen Desaturation may be varied but include the fact that
new-borns cannot hold their head upright. When the head 'flops'
their airways narrow and the lungs are less efficient if the chest
diaphragm is restricted by the restraint straps.
Whilst safety of
newborns must be a number one priority for parents choosing a car
seat, it is important not to ignore the health implications
associated with using rear-facing seats - particularly for lengthy
journeys. ( for further information concerning health and car
seats visit http://www.johnstonprams.co.uk/pr/ ).
It is for these
reasons along with our changing lifestyles that have focused our
Research and Design departments into developing the safest and most
practical solutions for you and your baby. The Matrix is
becoming more an more recognized by mothers and health professionals
as a positive solution to many problems concerning the safe
transportation of young babies in the car and on the street.
The Matrix caters for
the first important months of a newborn baby's life in the healthier
lie-flat position either in the car or on the chassis of the pram.
As your baby gets older and heavier it can be used in the sitting up
rearward facing position which will afford it better safety and
protection as required.
